Lisbon awarded Europe-s Leading Cruise Destination and Cruise Port by World Travel Awards

Lisbon has been named “Europe’s leading cruise destination” and “Europe’s leading cruise port” in the World Travel Awards 2016. These accolades, announced at the Europe Gala Ceremony held in Sardinia earlier this month, honour the quality of services and the facilities for cruise passengers available in the sunny Portuguese capital.

Palm Springs is getting ready to welcome its latest celebrity resident, eccentric fashion designer to the stars Jeremy Scott, further confirming the city as one of the world’s hottest celebrity destinations. The Moschino designer has just purchased Elrod House, famous for its role in the James Bond film ‘Diamonds Are Forever’, for $7.7m.

Highly-anticipated Tenerife Motor Circuit project to boost island’s motorsport credentials

To the delight of motorsports fans, construction has begun on the highly-anticipated Tenerife Motor Circuit, which will be located in the southern region of Granadilla de Abona. Scheduled to be completed by 2018, the racetrack will cover an area of 350,000 square metres within a complex of over 1.3 square kilometres and will add motorsports to Tenerife’s outstanding credentials for outdoor sports and activities.

Palm Springs Pride Parade to Pay Tribute to Orlando Massacre Victims

Organisers of this year’s Greater Palm Springs Pride Parade have announced plans to honour the 49 victims of the Pulse nightclub massacre in Orlando. The parade, which takes place during Palm Springs Pride Week from the 1 to 6 November, is the largest equal rights march and diversity celebration in the region and will also celebrate the work of award winning director, writer and producer Del Shores and singer and entertainer Nicky Ciampoli.

Palm Springs to Host Two-Month Long Free Contemporary Art Exhibition

The first ever Desert X art exhibition is set to take place in Palm Springs and the surrounding desert from February to April 2017. Desert X will offer artists a variety of non-traditional as well as institutional venues in which to display their art, with locations including the Palm Springs Art Museum and Sunnylands Center & Gardens. A wide variety of different contemporary artists are set to exhibit throughout the two-month period, and their artwork will shed light on the geographical, historic, social and ethnic landscape of the California desert, whilst examining many of the major movements in contemporary art.
