NH Hotel Group’s “Hotels with a Heart” Programme is again the Star of its Christmas Campaign

This Christmas, for the twelfth consecutive year, NH Hotel Group will once again run its international “Hotels with a Heart” charitable campaign, which reinforces the Group’s commitment to social causes in communities where it operates. In collaboration with several local NGOs and foundations in each country, the Company will donate rooms to families with limited who have children hospitals away from home, so that they can be together over Christmas.

‘Fado’ up your life! Lisbon’s soulful sound joins the stars of Nos Alive

Having recently celebrated five years since its inscription on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list, fado music will once again be included in NOS Alive next year after featuring for the first time in the festival’s 10-year history in July 2016. The inclusion of Lisbon’s most distinctive sound alongside headline acts including the Foo Fighters, Alt J and Depeche Mode shows that fado is more ‘alive’ than ever as a new generation of singers – known as “young fadistas” – revitalise the iconic art form, placing it at the forefront of world music.

New Michelin guide reinforces Lisbon’s growing culinary reputation

Lisbon’s restaurants have been awarded a total of eight Michelin stars – three of them new – in the just-published Michelin Guide Spain and Portugal 2017, with Belcanto by José Avillez retaining its two stars. Portugal’s capital has always been known for classic dishes such as bacalhau and the freshest of seafood, but now the city’s talented chefs are using their creativity and the latest techniques to create an unforgettable choice of fine dining experiences.

Macao To Host Its First Ever International Film Festival and Awards

Macao is getting ready to host its first ever International Film Festival and Awards (IFFAM), which will take place between the 8th and 13th of December 2016. Spanning six consecutive days, the event will showcase the best of Asian and international cinema with a programme of film premieres and screenings for both Asian and Western film, red-carpet presentations, industry events, masterclasses and an awards ceremony. A partnership with the British Film Institute (BFI) will see young film makers from Macao making a short film that will premiere during the festival.
