British visitor arrivals to Tenerife to exceed 2 million for first time in 2016

Visitor arrivals from the UK to Tenerife are set to exceed 2 million in 2016 for the very first time following a bumper year with unprecedented growth. Over 1.55 million visitors from the UK travelled to Tenerife between January to September 2016, representing a remarkable 19.9% increase compared to the same period last year. These figures, released by the Tenerife Tourism Corporation, demonstrate the continued strength of the UK market to Tenerife, which remains the island’s largest source market, accounting for 36.9% of all its visitors.

Macao Now Boasts 19 Michelin Starred Restaurants

Macao has been further confirmed as one of Asia’s most exciting food destinations, with three restaurants receiving Michelin stars for the first time in the 2017 Michelin Guide Hong Kong Macau. The new additions bring the total number of Michelin starred restaurants in Macao to 19, up from 16 the previous year. The guide also continues to recommend a host of other restaurants in Macao with a total of 68 restaurants mentioned, and has awarded twelve of Macao’s eateries the Bib Gourmand Award.

Eva Air Introduces Gudetama Jet Comfort Flights

Today sees the launch of EVA Air’s specially branded Sanrio family aircraft, themed with an exclusive Gudetama theme. Adding to its existing and popular Hello Kitty and Sanrio-character services, EVA will operate the brightly liveried Gudetama Comfort flights on regional and short-range routes within Asia.  The Gudetama Jet Comfort flight will operate on an Airbus A321-200 aircraft configured for 184 passengers, eight in business class and 175 in economy and is EVA’s first specially painted A321.
