We are proud to employ people who share our passion and our values and who work hard to deliver excellent results for our clients. In addition to our speccialist account team, Hume Whitehead Directors are on hand when you need us. We work closely with every account, right from the start – and continue to do so, years later.
We’re not one of those Marketing, PR or Representation agencies where you only see the senior team when they are pitching for your business!
Sue Whitehead – Director
As Marketing Director of two of the UK’s largest hotel groups, she ran award-winning communications campaigns and developed major new brands. Whilst with the world-renowned Orient Express organisation, Sue directed the global launch of the Eastern & Oriental Express service in Singapore.
Sue says: I love the challenge of finding just the right solution for clients with very different business objectives.
If Sue didn’t work at Hume Whitehead…. She’d be fitter!
Richard Hume – Director
Richard then moved to Tourism Authority of Thailand as UK Director of Marketing and PR, delivering record visitors and receiving several industry awards. Following the tsunami in 2004 he became a regular industry and media spokesperson on crisis management issues.

Richard says: I love the variety of my work. I get a real buzz from winning new clients, but I am most proud of the relationship we have with all our clients – and the results we achieve together.
If Richard didn’t work at Hume Whitehead… he’d love to be a ski instructor, living in the French Alpes or the Pyrenees

Lesley says: I have a passion for travel and the destinations I represent. I love working with our clients and the industry to get messages to market, delivering results and inspiring others to travel.
If Lesley didn’t work at Hume Whitehead… you would find her hanging out at an orangutan sanctuary.
Cat Cambridge – PR Account Director
Having worked with a number of big household brands, including Coca Cola, IKEA, Polaroid, Diageo and Wrigley, Cat is used to tackling challenges head on and takes pride in delivering results that drive business objectives. Her key highlights include; managing a nationwide series of customer events for IKEA, managing PR and social campaigns for a range of clients, creating headline-grabbing PR stunts for Diet Coke and running successful press days and events for clients, such as Polaroid, Warburtons and Costa.
After working her way up the ranks at a number of FMCG, consumer and retail-focussed PR and marketing agencies, Cat got a taste for hospitality and travel, when she took over managing the press office for Travelodge. Having first-hand experience and behind-the-scenes access to the UK’s largest independent hotel chain proved a turning point in her career.
Having caught the travelling and hospitality bug during her time at Travelodge, Cat joined the Hume Whitehead team in April 2017, and now oversees the PR function.
Cat says: I really love what I do. Not only is every day different, but I also get a buzz from a job well done.
If Cat didn’t work at Hume Whitehead… … She would write a novel.
Enrique Martin – Junior Account Manager
His interest in PR brought him to the UK where he achieved an MA in Communications Management from London Metropolitan University and worked in the BBC press office on one of the UK’s most popular TV shows, Eastenders. He then joined a London-based communications consultancy before moving on to the popular social networking site, Badoo.com, where he was immersed in all aspects of digital public relations and social media.

Enrique says: What I most enjoy about my job is conversing with journalists and the diversity of the role, not a single day is the same!
If Enrique didn’t work at Hume Whitehead… he would while away his time in social networks!
Sarah Wilkinson – Junior Account Manager
After gaining invaluable experience in the professional workplace, Sarah decided to combine her passion for travel with her knowledge of the industry and quickly settled in at a boutique travel PR agency, representing a range of UK and International travel partners.
Sarah’s love of travel has seen her move from her home town of Leicester to the famed city of Oxford and to the Hume Whitehead team, bringing with her not only a breadth of experience, but also a true passion for travel.
Sarah says: I get a real buzz from working in the travel industry. Each client brings with it new challenges, new opportunities, a real sense of accomplishment and – perhaps most importantly – genuine friendships.
If Sarah didn’t work at Hume Whitehead… … she’d spend her days travelling the world, one Formula One race at a time.
At the Hong Kong Tourism Board, Sandra successfully promoted and increased awareness of Hong Kong as a leisure destination to the travel trade and helped to increase visitor arrivals despite a poor economic climate. She delivered effective joint marketing activities with tour operators, airlines and hotels, conducted Hong Kong training to UK sales teams, organised fam trips, managed and participated in trade events and exhibitions and most importantly built a great rapport with the trade.
During her tenure at Travel Deals Direct (TDD), Sandra secured weekly travel offers to promote on air to a wide TV audience – these deals were exclusive to TDD, a similar format to the flash sales as seen online nowadays. At lastminute.com, Sandra led a team of Account Managers to deliver competitive holiday deals to the customer online. She maintained strong relationships with 3rd party holiday suppliers and maximised override income for the organisation.
Sandra says: I am passionate about travel and it is fascinating to learn about different cultures. Travel keeps me motivated and I dream to see most of the world before I get too old!
If Sandra didn’t work at Hume Whitehead… …….she’d love to open up a simple business down by the sea!
Sarah made the move into destination marketing and PR in 2003 working on some major US accounts including NYC & Company and Hawaii Tourism. She worked as an Account Director for an advertising agency and was responsible for delivering Jersey Tourism’s extensive advertising campaign. Sarah has recently moved back into working on USA accounts including Experience Kissimmee and Discover Illinois.
At Hume Whitehead, Sarah is responsible for travel trade sales and marketing for the Palm Springs Bureau of Tourism.
Sarah says:I love working in travel and enjoy the variety of interesting people that I come into contact with. I like getting my teeth stuck into projects and seeing the results as they unfold.
If Sarah didn’t work at Hume Whitehead… She’d like to do a big road trip from the north of Canada, through the USA, Central America ending in the southern-most tip of South America. She’d also like to run an animal sanctuary.
While her versatility has taken her to manage successful campaigns for clients as diverse as PricewaterhouseCoopers and Lego, it is in the tourism industry where she has thrived and built up valuable experience and contacts. She has run PR and representation campaigns for the Central America Tourism Agency and the Valencia Region Tourist Board, generating widespread media coverage and helping attract more visitors to these destinations.
She has also worked for other destinations such as Scotland and Lisbon, as well as tour operators, hotels, theme parks and other tourism-related businesses. She now supports the Tenerife Tourism Corporation team at Hume Whitehead.
Cristina says: I love writing and the challenge of finding new angles to sell a story to the media.
If Cristina didn’t work at Hume Whitehead… she would love to work as a tour guide in London.
Lisa says: I really emphasise face to face contact in my work, which I feel enables me to identify and work successfully with partners at all industry levels.
If Lisa didn’t work at Hume Whitehead… She would own and run a cattle ranch!
Tom joined Hume Whitehead in spring 2015 and brings dedication and passion for his work, mixed with some laid back Mediterranean vibes of course! His background helps him relate to customers who are not based in the UK and explain the idiosyncrasies of the British media landscape.
Tom says: Working in this industry it is impossible not to get the travel bug. It’s a real eye opener and I take advantage of every opportunity to do something different, whether that is glacier trekking in Patagonia or flying on a hot air balloon over Napa Valley. I am lucky enough to have travelled to all continents – except for Antarctica (but you never know, I might one day)!
If Tom didn’t work at Hume Whitehead… … he’d finally get down to finishing the book that he started writing years ago!
